Senior Product Marketing Manager

As the Senior Product Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for the outbound marketing programs for an exciting "mobile to PC" multi-device app development product line. You will craft messaging and positioning for products. You will conceive and develop innovative marketing programs that drive demand. Attention to detail and an eye for quality, along with the ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into benefits is crucial. In your role you will be the expert in understanding application developer customers, how their evaluation and decision processes work, and what their buying criteria are, and transfer that knowledge into marketing programs and to the sales channel.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates your products in the market.
  • Demand generation – develop the strategy and manage the marketing programs that drive demand for your products.
  • Sales enablement – communicate the value proposition of the products to the sales team and develop the sales tools that support the selling process of your products.
  • Product launch – plan the launch of new products and releases and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan.
  • Market intelligence – be the expert on your buyers, how they buy and their buying criteria; be the expert on your competition and how to crush them.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of software product marketing experience with at least 2 years' experience in a field facing role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Marketing.
  • Very strong written communication skills.
  • Excellent people and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues, and cross-functional teams as well as third parties.
  • Understanding of or experience with development tools, programming languages, and related technologies will be helpful for this position.
Product Manager – DB PowerStudio
San Francisco, California

As Product Manager, you will be responsible for driving business performance for the market-leading DB PowerStudio product line. Doing so will draw on your deep experience in data management technology, your vision for what's possible, and your strong communication and organizational skills. Your background gives you credibility in front of DBAs and customer executives as well as Embarcadero's Engineering, Marketing, and Sales teams. Your vision, drive, and organizational skills will bring innovation and business growth to DB PowerStudio.

You will guide a team that is charged with optimizing the product line's business value. This extends from increasing the profitability of existing products to developing new products and features that will deliver new sources of revenue. You will build products from existing ideas and help to develop new ideas based on your industry experience and your contact with customers, prospects, and the broader marketplace. You must possess a rare blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision and the drive to make that vision a reality.

You must be able to communicate with all areas of the Company. You will work with colleagues in Engineering to define product release requirements. You will work with your Marketing counterparts to define the messaging and go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer. You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for the DB PowerStudio product line, occasionally working with the Sales channel and key customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities.
  • Coordinate with other product managers to align features, functions, and integration points across the Embarcadero product portfolio.
  • Research and define new products and/or features to existing products through customer interaction and marketplace and competitive research.
  • Create detailed specifications for new features.
  • Work closely with Engineering team to scope the features and provide a release timeline, resulting in an on-time delivery of the release.
  • Act as the voice of DB PowerStudio, evangelizing in internal and external presentations and through social media outlets.
  • Work closely with Marketing to develop messaging and go-to-market plans.
  • Provide technical guidance/training for field Software Consultants, Technical Support team, and the Sales force.

Required Skills:

  • Deep knowledge of relational database landscape – Big Data a plus.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. You will be working with all areas of the Company as well as customers. You have the ability to communicate both business and technical value propositions to diverse audiences.
  • Superior presentation skills. As the evangelist for the product line, you will be tasked with presenting your product at events, both internal and external.
  • Excellent organizational skills. You will need to effectively allocate your time and company resources amongst competing priorities and constituencies to meet the business goals for the product line.
  • Prior product management or related experience strongly preferred.
  • Technical knowledge of a supported relational database is preferred.
