IT Network Administrator

About the job:

We're looking for a Senior IT Network Administrator to champion a culture of technology excellence for our employees in a rapidly evolving organization. You will be directly responsible for the performance and efficient scaling of our servers and corporate services. Unlike similar positions in other companies, this one allows you to have a voice in the architectural solutions that guarantee our service levels.

This position requires strong technical skills with Cisco Networking, Microsoft and VMware technologies. By supporting our team, you will play an important role in our mission to provide global coverage for our R&D team.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy and troubleshoot Virtual Infrastructure at our San Jose, California data centers.
  • Design, deploy, maintain and upgrade high performance Storage Solutions for the VMs.
  • Design, deploy, maintain and upgrade our Corporate network infrastructure, including Routers, Cisco 6500 switches, Firewalls, Load Balancers, Wireless Access Points.
  • Design, test and deploy services such as Inventory Management, File Shares and Patch Management, Systems Monitoring.
  • Maintain and extend corporate servers and services
  • Manage Backup and Disaster Recovery
  • Manage and integrate with external services like Office 365
  • Maintain and customize Active Directory structure and Group Policies
  • On-call availability for up to two weeks per quarter
  • Provide exceptional user support
  • Deploy and monitor Windows and Mac security and application patches
  • Facilitate major rollouts of new hardware or software

About you:

  • You have a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or other related discipline, or equivalent work experience
  • Extensive experience supporting and maintaining Windows 7/8 desktops
  • Extensive experience administering Windows Server 2008/2012
  • You are familiar with backup solutions like Symantec Backup Exec, Barracuda Backup appliances.
  • You know how to patch servers and clients
  • You know best practices in IT Operations and IT Security
  • You are an expert in Active Directory and GPO, including multi-site architecture and management
  • You are proficient with Powershell
  • You are experienced with Mac clients in an Active Directory environment
  • You are comfortable with Linux
  • You are able to pick up any issues that may come to IT Help Desk and provide resolution in timely fashion.

The successful candidate must have extensive RDBMS experience, as well as a background in software tools and languages. The ideal candidate will have an extensive background in data modeling. Requirements:
