Inside Sales Representative
San Francisco, CA or Austin, Texas

Embarcadero Technologies seeks a highly motivated sales professional to join its Inside Sales team. The successful candidate will be committed to helping our customers build and deploy high-performance database applications and possess an impressive record of exceeding goals. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have the proven ability of building strong pipelines with a diligent, proactive work ethic and the willingness to learn. A goal-oriented, team player with the ability to multi-task is a must.


  • Sell database business solutions to companies in a defined territory.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the key decision-makers for the enterprise to nurture a total understanding of business needs.
  • Develop new accounts and implement plans for growth in existing accounts.
  • Work with pre-sales technical resources to gain complete understanding of customer needs and customize the appropriate solution.
  • Recognize customer business problems and drive/influence resources to address these needs; create business proposals around these needs.
  • Provide customers with a personalized level of customer service that reinforces the importance of customer satisfaction.


  • A minimum of 1 year experience selling for a software business (2+ years is preferred).
  • Consistent track record of meeting and exceeding monthly, quarterly and annual quota targets.
  • Basic knowledge of databases, database tools, software development tools or the software development process a plus.
  • Exceptional customer service and telemarketing skills; including cold calls.
  • Must have outstanding abilities in the development and execution of sales strategies.
  • Experience with call management systems (Salesforce experience is preferred).
  • Working knowledge of database environment is a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including proposal preparation.
  • Functional knowledge of the following Microsoft tools: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Online Media Marketing Manager
Scotts Valley, CA or Austin, TX

Embarcadero Technologies seeks an Online Media Marketing Manager to implement online marketing and monitoring programs for its products with a particular emphasis on online advertising and search engine optimization (SEO). This position is responsible for developing, managing, and executing marketing strategies in addition to the management of content for SEO on the corporate website, campaigns, and microsites. In this role, you will conceive and run all online advertising campaigns to drive campaigns, site traffic and revenue worldwide.


  • Manage optimization of the Embarcadero family of websites worldwide for search engine listings, site rankings, and keywords. Monitor and report on competitor standings. Utilize web analytics to monitor website and performance metrics.
  • Seek out and develop new ways to drive traffic through innovative advertising approaches as well as monitor and analyze performance measures to improve website and direct marketing initiatives.
  • Analyze and improve the visitor experience and conversion rates on our sites and landing pages.
  • Devise and implement appropriate campaigns for online advertising activities.
  • Successfully team with colleagues and external partners when appropriate on online marketing projects.
  • Work closely with all members of Marketing Operations, Creative and Product Marketing teams.
  • Work with other staff members to analyze, manage, and optimize PPC and SEO campaigns; and other online advertising channels.
  • Provide regular reports to internal stakeholders on campaigns.
  • Assist with company websites content, layout, UI, and usability from an Internet marketing perspective.


  • BA/BS in marketing, business or a related field.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in online/interactive marketing or SEO role.
  • Experience defining and implementing web marketing programs and campaigns.
  • Experience establishing and tracking web metrics.
  • Experience managing SEO and Search Engine Marketing (SEM) including keyword management.
  • Experience with social monitoring tools, Google AdWords, and Google Analytics.
  • Strong communication skills to evangelize SEO projects and work with cross functional staffs to ensure implementation.
  • Strong problem solving capabilities and a track record of successful online strategies that drive qualified traffic, leads, and online sales.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork and cross-functional skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Joomla CMS and basic HTML programming preferred.
  • Experience in both B2B and B2C is a plus.
  • Experience in the software industry, especially database or development software, is a plus.
