Sr. Network Administrator
Responsible for the daily operation of our network infrastructure, including maintaining 24x7 network and support hardware and network software infrastructure; and managing projects undertaken by MIS. Duties include: performing routine backups; implementing and overseeing automated backup procedures for routers, switches, and firewalls; performing data recovery procedures; performing scheduled maintenance on all servers; researching new tools and methods to better manage server and network equipment; delivering comprehensive alternatives and solutions for server integration and network issues; troubleshooting network performance issues; identifying bottlenecks and resolving as necessary; managing company wide Firewall and VPN (IPSEC) tunnels; performing maintenance and backup of data; managing anti-virus programs and servers; keeping current with anti-virus protection schemes and software; maintaining current documentation of hardware and software and architecture diagrams; creating project plans and proposals; making presentations to customers and professional peers; being involved in the support and administration of the network/LAN/WAN infrastructure; troubleshooting TCP/IP, DNS, WINS and Active Directory Domain issues; being on call for server and network outage issues; and troubleshooting and identifying source of downtime and working with others to correct the problems.
Master's or equivalent in Telecommunication Systems, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Information Systems and no experience OR will also accept a Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Telecommunication Systems, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Information Systems and five years of progressively responsible experience as a Network Administrator or Network Engineer; OR any suitable combination of education, training and experience equivalent to a Master's/equivalent and no experience or a Bachelor's/equivalent and five years of progressively responsible experience. |
