EMBARCADERO TECHNOLOGIES REFUELS WITH $200 MILLION GO-PRIVATE TRANSACTION

Senior vice president of operations promoted to president and CEO

San Francisco - June 27, 2007 - Embarcadero Technologies, Inc. announced that the $200 million go-private transaction with Thoma Cressey Bravo has been completed. As a private company, Embarcadero will have the resources and flexibility to accelerate the development of its award-winning database management tools resulting in improved responsiveness to customer needs and a revitalized role as a leader in the database management industry.

Embarcadero was founded in 1993 and quickly established itself as a market leader with its cross-platform database management tools. The company went public in April 2000, and celebrated one of the most successful initial public offerings by a software company that year. Today, the company serves more than 12,000 customers internationally, including over 90 of the Fortune 100.

"Embarcadero is responsible for developing some of the most valuable database tools on the market and as a result, has built a tremendous worldwide customer base," said Orlando Bravo, managing partner of Thoma Cressey Bravo. Throughout the second half of this year, Embarcadero will announce major releases of its core database products that will extend the company's cross-platform support and deliver greater functionality. The company will also unveil two new database management products which are built upon progressive open source technologies - Eclipse and XML.

Also announced today, Raj Sabhlok has been promoted to president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Embarcadero Technologies. Sabhlok joined the company in 2000, and has held a number of executive management roles at Embarcadero. Most recently, he served as senior vice president of operations.
