Embarcadero Names Gregory Jorgensen to Lead New Marketing Organization

SAN FRANCISCO - June 9, 2008 - Embarcadero Technologies, a privately-held company of Thoma Cressey Bravo, today announced that Gregory Jorgensen has joined the company as its new Vice President of Marketing. In this role, Jorgensen will be responsible for managing Embarcadero's integrated marketing, product evangelism and channel/partner alliances, as well as strategic initiatives including brand collaboration and visibility, demand generation, sales enablement and Web management, upon the close of the CodeGear acquisition, expected later this month.

Jorgensen brings a strong global marketing background to Embarcadero, with more than 25 years of experience building, rebuilding and managing a wide variety of international and domestic brands. A former executive vice president and chief marketing officer for Macrovision, Jorgensen restructured the marketing organization toward targeted consumer initiatives that positively impacted revenue for six consecutive quarters and he led the successful marketing integration of two acquired companies. Most recently, he was the founder and principal of Jorgensen Brand Group.

"We are fortunate to bring on a marketing talent like Greg who has experience driving transformational marketing programs for global organizations," said Wayne Williams, CEO of Embarcadero Technologies. "He is an outstanding leader and his strategic eye and skill-set will be particularly beneficial as we finalize the acquisition of CodeGear and move forward as a unified company."

Prior to his role at Macrovision, Jorgensen was the senior vice president of worldwide marketing for McAfee (formerly Network Associates). He led the creation of global marketing campaigns and the implementation of a worldwide branding strategy that culminated in a re-launch of the company under its premium brand, McAfee. Jorgensen has also served in senior-level marketing positions for IBM/Crossworlds Software Group and Oracle.

"Embarcadero is in an exciting position as it expands into new markets and regions," said Jorgensen. "I'm looking forward to playing a key role in shaping the company's future strategies, capitalizing on market opportunities, and producing positive results for shareholders."

Jorgensen will be based out of Embarcadero's San Francisco headquarters, reporting directly to Williams.
