Embarcadero ER/Studio MetaWizard™ Extends Data Models to Solve Complex Metadata Integration Needs with New Interfaces for Leading Business Intelligence Tools

San Francisco, Calif. - July 11, 2005 - Embarcadero Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: EMBT), a leading provider of data lifecycle management solutions, today announced a partnership with Meta Integration Technology, Inc. (MITI), an industry leader in metadata integration, to deliver a data model-driven metadata integration solution. Through this partnership, Embarcadero ER/Studio^® offers bidirectional import/export interfaces to business intelligence (BI) query and reporting tools for the industry's leading BI environments, including Business Objects, Cognos, DB2 Cube Views, and Hyperion, as well as key industry standards such as CWM (the Common Warehouse Metamodel) and other XML-based schemas. For the first time, the combined technology gives data architects, BI application designers, and application developers the power to harness a reliable, model-based flow of metadata - or data about data - throughout an organization. This results in a clearly delineated and executable metadata management strategy, which in turn leads to simplified data integration, higher data quality and consistency, reduced time needed to modify systems to reflect business needs, proper data reuse across the enterprise, and better reporting and regulatory compliance.

By leveraging an embedded version of Meta Integration Model Bridge (MIMB) technology, Embarcadero ER/Studio MetaWizard now has even more robust metadata analysis and management capabilities, which are required by data architects, BI analysts, developers, and database administrators (DBAs). With these new enhancements, data professionals can visualize XML schemas, populate BI engines, or leverage existing data assets in new applications knowing that the underlying data is consistent, accurate, and trusted by users throughout an organization.
