NTT Data Further Enhances Productivity with ToolCloud Technology for SAN FRANCISCO – Jan. 4, 2011 — Embarcadero Technologies, a leading provider of multi-platform database tools and developer software, today announced the availability of ER/Studio® XE Japanese Edition, its award-winning database design and data modeling tool suite for Japan market. This latest version offers improvements in the user experience, enhanced scalability and performance, and expanded database management system (DBMS) support for Netezza. Embarcadero’s ER/Studio XE offers the most collaborative way for data management professionals to build and maintain enterprise-scale databases and data warehouses. Built-in facilities automate routine modeling tasks so users can analyze and optimize databases and data warehouse structures faster and easier. With an improved and more scalable server-side repository for model management, ER/Studio XE introduces the most productive way to share, document and publish models and metadata to distributed teams. Data modeling demands are expanding from RDBMS data design to data warehouse model management. ER/Studio XE supports Neteeza in addition to Oracle, DB2, Sybase, MS SQL Server, InterBase, Teradata, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and more, all from a single window. ER/Studio XE delivers Embarcadero® ToolCloud technology for centralized license management and on-demand tool access. ER/Studio XE, with ToolCloud, makes it easy to track thousands of licenses and ensure that agile project teams have immediate access to the software tools that they need. NTT Data’s adoption of ER/Studio and ToolCloud NTT Data has been using ER/Studio as its enterprise-wide data modeling tool for the past five years. The company had been managing thousands of ER/Studio licenses and found it difficult to track usage and ensure its agile project teams had immediate access to these software tools. This caused productivity loss and delayed delivery on revenue-generating projects. With Embarcadero ToolCloud, NTT Data gains the efficiencies of centralized license management and tool provisioning so teams have access to ER/Studio when and where they need it. “We have been using ER/Studio as our standard modeling tool in many development projects since 2005, due to its full modeling features and because it is easy to use,” said Mr. Hiroshi Tomiyasu, manager of the Center for Applied Software Engineering at NTT Data. “This time when we renewed our contract, we decided to adopt ToolCloud which manages our licenses. I believe by retrieving and reusing our ER/Studio licenses, we can accelerate productivity, deliver on key business initiatives sooner and reduce license costs.” NTT Data adopted 1,000 licenses of ER/Studio and now has on-demand access to ER/Studio and will receive version updates instantly. Additionally, NTT Data can now optimize its use of existing ER/Studio tool licenses. “Having the ability to centrally provision and manage ER/Studio means NTT Data is gaining increased productivity as its data modeling teams now have on-demand access to ER/Studio,” said Michael Swindell, senior vice president of marketing and products, Embarcadero Technologies. “ToolCloud removes delays associated with license management so companies like NTT Data can rapidly arm their data modelers with the tools they need to do their jobs efficiently.” About Embarcadero ER/Studio For more information, please see http://www.embarcadero.com/products/er-studio-xe About NTT DATA CORPORATION About Embarcadero Technologies ### |
