Embarcadero Strengthens Presence in the Benelux Region
Opens new office in Amsterdam to support partners and customers
Maidenhead, United Kingdom – 10 May, 2012— Embarcadero Technologies, a leading provider of software solutions for application and database development, today announced the opening of its sales and marketing office in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, to establish a physical presence in the Benelux region. The Benelux is Embarcadero’s fifth largest market in Europe, the Middle East and Africa; and home of many Fortune 500 companies and some of the most technologically advanced organisations in the world.
“The opening of the Amsterdam office is a strategic business decision,” says Ludovic Neveu, Senior Sales Director EMEA at Embarcadero. “IT adoption in The Netherlands is amongst the highest and most sophisticated compared to other regions in the world. A physical presence in Amsterdam will allow us to work directly with customers across the Benelux region to support their technological requirements as they build next generation databases and business applications; and fully leverage our solutions offering to maximise new business opportunities. Embracing a collaborative approach, we will also supplement the efforts of our existing partners in the region to augment customer satisfaction.”
Embarcadero offers the most comprehensive set of solutions across application development, database management, database platforms, performance optimisation and software licensing and management. Today, there are three million users worldwide and 90 of the Fortune 100 companies use Embarcadero solutions.
“We are delighted to hear that Embarcadero has opened an office in Amsterdam, we see this as a significant investment that will greatly help the Dutch developer community,” comments Marcel Meijer, Chairman of the Board, Software Developer Network. “A local presence will establish a more direct communication between Dutch developers and Embarcadero, not just regarding current tools and solutions, but also as a collaborative process for information and knowledge sharing to address future technology requirements.”
Alexander Goes has been appointed Sales Manager for Benelux with responsibility for developing new business opportunities and strategic partnerships, and growing the business. Previously, he has held sales and business development positions at Borland, Compuware and Philips.
In the region, Embarcadero currently has partnerships with Barnsten, a database and developer tools provider; and Logica, a £4 billion Europe-based business and technology service company.
With the partnership with Logica primarily focused on Embarcadero’s AppWave, an enterprise app store, Sander van den Born, Marketing and Innovation Director at Logica The Netherlands, says, “We welcome Embarcadero’s direct presence in the region. There is a natural synergy in business approach between Embarcadero and Logica and our working together on the ground will be hugely beneficial to both our customer bases.”
