Embarcadero's Appmethod to support Radius Networks' RadBeacon Proximity beacon technologies, making it easy for developers to quickly build new and innovative proximity-enabled solutions using a single-source native app development platform

WASHINGTON and SAN FRANCISCO – December 2, 2014 – Radius Networks today announced a partnership with Embarcadero Technologies, a leading provider of software solutions for application and database development. Through this partnership, Embarcadero's Appmethod software development platform for creating connected apps for the Internet of Things (IoT) market will provide support for Radius Networks' RadBeacon™ proximity beacons with iBeacon™ and AltBeacon™ technology.

Proximity beacons are Bluetooth Low Energy transmitters that can notify mobile devices when they come within 100 feet of the beacon. This micro-location proximity awareness can be leveraged to deliver a wide range of new innovative solutions, such as precision indoor navigation, automatic ticketing, guided museum tours, and location-relevant offers, promotions and payment options. Embarcadero will incorporate support for the RadBeacon proximity beacons into its Appmethod development platform, enabling its community of users to rapidly develop new and innovative proximity-enabled mobile solutions.

"Proximity awareness is a key component in IoT connected solutions. Partnering with Radius Networks showcases how Appmethod continues to be the development platform of choice for developers building the next generation of solutions for IoT," said Michael Swindell, Senior Vice President of Products, Embarcadero Technologies. "By supporting beacon technologies such as Radius Networks' RadBeacon, Appmethod enables developers to easily build powerful and innovative proximity aware IoT solutions across multiple platforms."

"We love it when great teams build cool things using our proximity technologies," said Marc Wallace, CEO and Co-Founder at Radius Networks. "With our partnership with Embarcadero Technologies and Appmethod integration of the ProximityKit and our RadBeacon proximity beacon technologies, application developers will be able to create amazing new solutions that leverage the power of mobile proximity and beacons."
