Embarcadero Announces April Cool App: Visuino

AUSTIN, Texas - May 18, 2017 - Embarcadero Technologies (a division of IDERA), a leading provider of software solutions for application development, today announced that the April 2017 winner of its Cool App contest is Visuino, which allows people with no programming experience to easily program Arduino boards and create their dream projects.

“Visuino is a great example of extending the productivity of Delphi to more developers through an amazing development tool built with Delphi”

Visuino, developed by Mitov Software, enables beginners and professionals to create complex Arduino projects in minutes. Once the graphical design is completed, Visuino automatically generates all the necessary C++ code for the selected Arduino device. The app also includes powerful serial terminal, multi-channel scope and visual instrumentation, allowing easy monitoring and logging of multiple data channels sent from the controller.

“Visuino is a great example of extending the productivity of Delphi to more developers through an amazing development tool built with Delphi,” said Jim McKeeth, chief developer advocate and engineer at Embarcadero. “Embarcadero teamed up with Visuino previously during our Internet of Things Bootcamp to show how to build and connect to Arduino powered devices and projects between Delphi, C++Builder and RAD Server.”

Visuino makes it easy for Delphi and C++Builder developers to expand the reach of their desktop apps to Arduino and similar devices, including almost all standard Arduino boards, ESP8266, ESP32, Teensy, Femto IO, LinkIt ONE, FreeSoC2, RoMeo BLE, Bluno Beetle, Goldilocks Analogue and many Arduino based Industrial PLC Controllers such as Controllino, Bedac and Digital Loggers PLDuino.

“Without Delphi, it would not be possible to create Visuino. Delphi offers the unique combination of language features such as Advanced RTTI, Attributes and robust Component Framework, combined with native Cross Platform code generation,” said Boian Mitov, owner and CEO of Mitov Software. “These features are a must have when developing a component based, open architecture, graphical development environment like Visuino, with rich design editing functionality, capable to easily generate C++ code for Arduino compatible boards.”

Embarcadero’s Cool App contest is open to any business or consumer application built with RAD Studio, Delphi or C++Builder. Qualifying apps can use VCL, FireMonkey, DataSnap, EMS, FireDAC, InterBase and any other components, libraries, services, sites, infrastructures, APIs or devices. Embarcadero awards Cool App contest winners a $500 Amazon gift card and winning submissions are also highlighted on the company’s YouTube channel.
